Atmosphere at the high and plentiful mountain ranges, Ban Mae Ton Luang, Doisaket, Chiangmai.
The sun just has been gone over the top of the mountains 2 hours passed by. At the “Deva Coffee Plantation “ , we, three of us still immersed separately working. The sunshine became being fainting down. “ Panu”, Jack in all trades slinked himself away to immerse picking the coffee cherries up which were left over from the middle in the last February.
Niyom, the young hard working man was not far from me. We both climbed up to the high place of the plantation near the top of the mountain where is rather high. But it is not steep. He cut and trimmed the tree branches which were being covered by the slender slam of the plants and tumbler trees, including the weeds which were being grown its productively. They covered some coffee tree and made it become peevishly ( I said to myself) and grumblingly. Because there was nobody to take it in a good care.
That’s why it made them resisted in bearing fruits.
I myself is in charge of researching and prune downing of the coffee plants productivities, ( It sounds like a technical term. Right ?) meaning that it relates and chops the syns of the banana trees in order to let them let enough lights for nourishing comfortably for next flowering and bearing fruits
Even the coffee, generally is a shady plant. At the moment, at our DEVA Coffee Plantation it is not. But it is too shady. It, therefore must be cultivated appropriately step by step. From now on the drying season is coming soon. The weeds and climber plants which have been being messed the coffee trees since the last rainy and winner seasons.
After having seen them, I was shock and felt downhearted. Because they could not be stopped by a man power. It now starts withering and bearing fruits again waiting for the drying season goes by.
At this moment, we must take an advantage by trimming and cleaning of the climbers and lianas.( Ha, ha it sounds not a polite word, doesn’t it)
“Xunwu” the famous Chinese philosopher wrote in his Victory text book that “ a wise man must learn how to attach the weak enemies to win the war quickly.”
We, at the DEVA Coffee Plantation also apply his ideas in running our business.
Some reader might thinks that we are rich as well as other wealthy coffee plantation owners. Due to this year the price of coffee is 30% more expensive than the years gone by (Ha! Ha!)
